TIFA 2019 (Tokyo International Photography Awards): a harvest of awards for Spéos!

The Tokyo International Photography Awards (TIFA) rewarded 6 Spéos Alumni in 2019, a record! The mission of the TIFA is to recognize, reward and showcase talented photographers from all over the world and to introduce them to the creative community in Japan.

In the Professional Section, two Spéos alumni were rewarded: Olesya Shilkina and Elena Tyutina

Olesya Shilkina received the Silver medal in the Advertising/Fashion category for her series “Haute of Decadence“. She also received the Bronze medal in the Fine Art/Portrait category for her series “Quantum Existence“. Olesya Shilkina is a Russian portrait photographer, she graduated from Spéos Professional Photography program in one year in 2014. She lives in Paris & works worldwide.

Elena Tyutina received an Honourable Mention in the Advertising/Beauty category for her series “The Flower Nymph“. Elena Tyutina is a Russian fashion and still life photographer working between Tokyo and Paris. She graduated from Spéos Professional Photography program in one year in 2016.

In the Amateur/Student section: two awards for Zhenzhen Cao

Zhenzhen Cao received the Gold medal in the Editorial/Fashion category for her series “Space Nomad Tribe“, and the Bronze medal in the Fine Art/Special Effects category for her series “Black Light“. Chinese photographer based in Paris, Zhenzhen Cao graduated from Spéos 2019 where she completed the Professional Photography program in one year.

Three Honorable mentions for : Sapna Khan, Tianqi Fu and Naomi Wu

Sapna Khan received an Honorable mention in the Nature/Landscape category for her series “Hunzai“. Born in Pakistan, Sapna Khan has exhibited her work at the Brick Lane Gallery (UK), Nairang Gallery (Pakistan), and Art NouMilenni Gallery (Spain). Sapna received honourable mentions for her work in the 2016 International Photography Awards, and her portrait has been published in Forbes magazine. She graduated from Spéos Professional Photography program in one year in 2014.

Tianqi Fu received an Honorable mention in the Fine Art/Other category for his series “Red Nature“, in collaboration with Zhenzhen Cao (see above). A Chinese photographer working between Paris, Tokyo and China, Tianqi Fu graduated from Spéos 2019 where he completed the Professional Photography program in one year.

Naomi Wu received an Honorable mention in the Editorial/Fashion category for her series “The Danish Girl“. A fashion and portrait photographer of Taiwanese origin based in Paris, Naomi Wu graduated from Spéos 2013 where she completed the Professional Photography program in one year.
